Join our staff and law clerks to celebrate the beginning of our Summer Seminar Series! Come hear words of welcome and inspiration from Ramon Arias, a highly respected leader in the national civil justice community. After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law in 1978, Mr. Arias began his career as a Staff Attorney with California Rural Legal Assistance. In 1988 he became the Executive Director of the San Francisco Neighborhood Legal Assistance Foundation, a position he held for the next twelve years. Mr. Arias was a leader in the formation of Bay Area Legal Aid in 2000, and was selected as its first Executive Director. With offices in San Francisco, Marin, Richmond, Oakland, San Jose, and San Mateo, and a staff of over eighty dedicated legal services workers, BayLegal is the Bay Area’s largest provider of free civil legal services. The Los Angeles Daily Journal, California’s primary legal newspaper, has twice selected him as one of the “Top 100 Most Influential Lawyers” in California.
