Dan DeVries has been at NCYL since 1993. Prior to that, he served as Director of Development for Interplast, Inc. and the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, as Director of the Annual Fund at the University of Oregon, and as Development Writer at Stanford Business School.

Tracy Schroth earned her B.A. from Ithaca College in 1979, and an M.S.J. with distinction from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 1983. She spent the next 12 years as a journalist, including as staff writer at the Asbury Park Press and the New Jersey Law Journal, and as news announcer for Radio Metropolis, an English-language radio station in Prague, Czech Republic. She began work in non-profit communications in 1998, after moving to California, serving as director of outreach and communications for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Santa Cruz County. Before joining NCYL, Tracy was the communications director for Civic Ventures, a national non-profit in San Francisco that works to expand the role of older adults in public service.

Maria joined NCYL in 2002. Her background includes more than 10 years of management experience in the private sector, as well as a long history of non-profit work. Maria earned a BFA with honors from Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts. A professional artist, she worked as an art therapist with emotionally disturbed children after earning her degree. Before joining NCYL, she worked in the clinical department of Edgewood Center for Children and Families.

Frankie has a BA in English from UC Berkeley. In 2006, he attended the Junior Summer Institute at the University of Michigan’s Ford School of Public Policy on a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellowship. He worked at the Greenlining Institute for the past two years, first as a Communications/Research Intern, and then as a Summer Associate. At UC Berkeley, Frankie was Transfer Coordinator for the University’s Raza Recruitment & Retention Center, coordinating the work of dozens of interns and organized statewide outreach and recruitment visits for thousands of low-income high school and community college students. In September, Frankie was awarded the 2007 Outstanding Achievement Award by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Ethel Oden-Brown has worked at NCYL since 1983. Before that time, as a legal secretary, she ran a private law firm with offices in both San Francisco and Oakland. She has also worked as a secretary for the Community Development Program in the City of Richmond.

Dainellee Stoll worked as a legal secretary at a private firm in San Francisco before joining NCYL. A musician, Dain has also taught piano at the San Francisco Community Music Center and the University of the Philippines, and served as Music Director for Saint Elizabeth Church in San Francisco.
