Roni Robertson is interested in furthering social justice for children and youth in foster care. She is completing her Master’s in Social Welfare at UC Berkeley’s School of Social Welfare, and is considering going on to get her PhD.
She currently works as a volunteer nurse practitioner at Dimension’s Clinic in San Francisco, a GLBTQ clinic for youth. Roni has worked to improve the health of children for the past 18 years as a nurse practitioner for the San Francisco Department of Public Health, at both the Balboa Teen Health Center and Hip Hop Clinic to Health. She also spent two years as a foster care public health nurse, which motivated her return to the world of academia.
Roni has taught adolescent medicine to both nurses and physicians at universities, hospitals, and clinics, including UC San Francisco, San Francisco General Hospital, and the Balboa Teen Health Center. Roni holds an undergraduate and Master’s degree in nursing from San Jose State University and UCSF, respectively, as well as a BA in Political Science from the State University of New York, Albany.
Roni is working with Senior Attorney Rebecca Gudeman on minor consent and confidentiality in California schools.
