NCYL 2010 Law Clerk Novella Coleman has been selected by the Equal Justice Society as its 2012-2013 Judge Constance Baker Motley Civil Rights Fellow. Named after the first African American woman to serve on the federal bench, the fellowship is designed to transform anti-discrimination law and policy.  Novella is currently a criminal justice and drug policy fellow at the ACLU of Northern California, where she focuses on the implementation of California’s Public Safety Realignment Legislation. She graduated from Harvard Law School in 2011.  

Former NCYL law clerk Christy Ferioli has received an AmeriCorps fellowship at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.  She will be helping veterans to secure government benefits.

NCYL 2004 Law Clerk Johanna Hartwig is Senior Director of the Office of Career Planning at the University of San Francisco Law School. Johanna is pleased that the school has a very strong social justice and public service mission.

NCYL 2011 Communications Intern Kristy Luk graduated from Harvard University in 2012. She is currently working at the YWCA Boston for the Youth Leadership Initiative, a year-long leadership development and social justice program for high school-aged youth across the Greater Boston area.

Former NCYL staff attorney Bryn Martyna had a baby boy! Lucas Leland Bruss was born Sept 1, weighing in at 7lbs, 5oz and 20 inches long. Mother and baby are all doing well! 

Former law clerk Dalisai Nisperos is living in Redwood City and clerking in the Legal Services Department of the California Teachers Association in Burlingame. 

Former NCYL law clerk Katherine Piggott-Tooke has been hired as a staff attorney at the Children's Law Center in Washington D.C. and will start in October.

Former NCYL Staff Attorney Patricia Soung is working for the Center for Juvenile Law and Policy at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. She is defending youth in court and supervising law students in client representation.

NCYL 2008 Law Clerk Jenny Yelin is an Associate at Rosen Bien Galvan & Grunfeld in San Francisco, focusing on employment, civil/constitutional rights and consumer protection. Jenny graduated from Berkeley Law in 2010 and was most recently with the Santa Clara County Counsel's office.
